Description |
From 1975 until his retirement from the NFL in
1987, Payton played 184 straight games for Chicago. He rushed
for a career total of 16,726 yards and 100 touchdowns. The club
immediately retired his number, 34, upon his retirement, and
he was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1993. Upon his election,
Jim Finks, the former general manager of the Bears, called Payton
“a complete football player; better than Jim Brown, better
than O.J. Simpson.”
Presented for auction is this gorgeous (numbered 464/1993)
Walter Payton signature on a 8 by 10 in. photo which shows Walter
as he high-steps it into the end zone while being pursued by
a Cleveland Browns defender. Signed in blue sharpie Walter Payton
with "Sweetness 16,726" also written next to his name
on this limited-edition photo. The signatures also displays Steiner's
(114468) and Walter Payton's (Celebrity Appearances Inc.) foundation
hologram sticker and is also accompanied by a PSA/DNA (B04351)
sticker all atesting to the validity of Walter's signature. A
fabulous displayed piece and an outstanding gift for that Chicago
Bears/Walter Payton fan in your life!
