About Shipping: Feel free to ship this boat to yourself. Don't get me wrong, it's not that I won't be helpful with the shipping process. I will. It's just that I can not possibly answer all the email I would receive during the auction asking for shipping quotes to all parts of the world, so I have listed this item as "local pickup only." But I do not care who collects the item for the winning bidder. If you're the winning bidder and you want to send a shipping company to pick it up for you, that's perfectly fine. I will gladly deliver the boat to any shipping terminal in Seattle as well. If you choose to ship this boat to yourself, you will most likely need a plywood crate. I have seen The UPS store offer a crate building service. If you win this auction, and plan to ship the boat to yourself, and your shipper says you need a crate, I will gladly deliver the boat to my local UPS Store at no charge. If you just need bubble wrap, I can do that for free. UPS probably can't ship an item of this size so you would most likely need to arrange another shipper to collect it from the UPS Store. Sound confusing? It isn't. I've been involved in many such transactions. It's actually pretty easy. I just find it better if I don't get involved with the shipping...hence the listing as "local pickup only." It's between you and your chosen shipping company. I just hand the item over to them. Over the years, I've seen my Ebay buyers come up with all kinds of creative shipping solutions. I once had a customer find a way to ship a kayak to himself, from Seattle to Kansas, for free! You just have to look around. Try Oak Harbor Freight, Old Dominion Freight, Alaska Marine Lines, Craigslist for somebody driving your way, there are tons of options out there. My zip code is 98115.
About Payment: You must make your Paypal or credit card payment, and provide me your plan to collect the item, within 24 hours of the close of this auction or I reserve the right to sell the item to another buyer. This is because Paypal is now (as of a few months ago) holding funds in reserve unitl the buyer leaves feedback for the transaction. You won't leave feedback until you receive the item. You won't receive the item until after you have made a plan to collect it and you have paid for it. So, I'm simply asking you to do your part to conclude the transaction in a timely fashion. If you prefer to pay for the item using credit card but wish not to use Paypal, I will post this item on my secure e-commerce website after the auction closes and you can make your purchase through my website.
About The Item: This is a beautiful boat, both in color and design. The boat in this auction is the one on top in the photo. The Tempest is a very popular design. It has high initial stability, it's easy to roll, it's fast, it performs. It's a great all around boat- maybe one of the best all around boats out there. Beginners love it. Advanced paddlers love it. It's probably the one boat that I've never heard someone say "the only thing I don't like about it is..." People are using them for day-trips, long expeditions, and surfing. You can read the manufacturer's write up here. This is a hand built fiberglass boat. MSRP on this boat is $3100.00. You're welcome to make an appointment to test drive this boat, before you bid. Sales are final. No refunds or returns will be accepted.
