YOU ARE BIDDING ON 1991 JOSS MODEL J-18 CUE. THIS CUE WAS FEATURED IN THE MOVIE THE COLOR OF MONEY IN WHICK PAUL NEWMAN WON HIS ONLY ACADEMY AWARD. IT IS IN AWSOME CONDITION! THERE ARE NO DENTS, DINGS, SCRATCHES OR MARKS WHAT SO EVER. THIS CUE IS VERY VERY NICE. BOTH PIECES ROLL STRAIGHT TOGETHER AND APART ON MY HOME TABLE. WEIGHT IS 19.75 OZ. AND THE SHAFT DIAMATER IS 13.25 MM.
Below is text I copied from color of money wikkipedia:
Director Scorsese had a cameo walking his dog, and another playing pool.[3] Newman said that the best advice he was given by Scorsese was to "try not to be funny".[3] Cruise performed most of his own shots. An exception was a jump shot over two balls to sink another. Scorsese believed Cruise could learn the shot, but that it would take too long, so the shot was performed for him by Mike Sigel.[3] The "Balabushka" cue in the movie was actually a Joss J-18, which later became the Joss N-07[4] (not a Meucci as many believe), made to resemble a classic Balabushka.
I PURCHASED THIS CUE FROM THE ORIGINAL OWNER. SHE WON IT IN A POOL TOURNAMENT AND WAS PRESENTED THIS CUE BY DAN JANES HIMSELF. SHE SENT IT BACK TO DAN A FEW YEARS AGO AND HAD IT REWRAPPED AND REFURBISHED. IT WAS RECCOMENDED THAT THE SHAFT JUST BE CLEANED. THE CUE IS STUNNING TO LOOK AT.
I HAVE THE ORIGINAL CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY AND WILL SHIP IT TO THE NEW OWNER!
WORK ON CUE CAN BE VERIFIED BY JOSS CUES WITH THE CERTIFICATE #!

This cue is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end this auction early!
On Nov-16-08 at 12:37:07 PST, seller added the following information:This cue has four points with inlays and veneers (ebony, teal, purple, and maple) I believe the inlays are MOP. and I'm not sure about the but cap but I believe it to be man made. The description when I bought the cue said all white was ivory. It doesn't look like it to me but I'm no expert. I think the ferrel may be ivory.
I am trying to find out some more info on this cue. I am writing dan at joss cues to try and jog him memory on this cue. I hear that he doesn't mind sharing info on his cues if you have good information about your cue. I hope to receive this info and post before auctions end.
I tried to post more pics but had trouble! If you want to see more I would have to send them to your email addy.
