JOHN ELWAY Early 1990's DENVER BRONCOS GAME USED WORN JERSEY

This early 90's jersey was worn by Hall of Famer former Bronco QB John Elway. Worn during the early 90's Orange Crush era. This is a winter jersey as indicated by the heavily insulated "Hand Warmer" pocket affixed to the front of the jersey. Extremely rare winter hand warmer jersey, as he wore only a few of these during his career. Heavy durene mesh body with dual color white and blue heavy pressed on numbers on the front and rear as appropriate for that period. Double layered orange dazzle cloth shoulders and sleeves. Dual color white on blue heavy pressed on stripes on sleeves. Wilson "W" in white sewn onto left sleeve. Custom wide gussetted sleeves for extra room. Finely ribbed neckline with NFL shield at the base, which indicates use during 1991 or after as the NFL shield was added in 1991. Dazzle cloth nameplate with "ELWAY" spelled out in sewn on white tackle twill, correctly spaced in the correct font. Wilson size "44" jersey with Wilson's manufacturer's tagging with "44 FY" flap tag. Tagging partially sewn into waistline seem. Appears to have at least 8" extra length added. To further enhance the value of this piece he hand signed the rear #7 in blue. Unfortunately the signature fading over the years as it was signed during the period of use. Overall very nice fabric wear, which would tend to indicate season long wear indicating that the jersey may have been worn early in the season and further used during the winter months with the addition of the hand warmer pocket. Some slightly yellow staining throughout the inside of the pocket which appears to be sweat or water staining as well as a small spot of what appears to be blood. A 1" repair also inside the left interior pocket. Hit marks evident on the left sleeve stripe. Considerable pilling under the arms. Excessive fabric wear on the lower right of the name plate and right rear sleeve, with two small holes in the dazzle cloth. Additional wear just above the nameplate and below the rear neckline with a small hole. Winning bidder will be provided with the complete history of the item. Showing very nice QB use overall. Very nice, extremely rare John Elway piece.
