ULTRA RARE Hotta Track frame, Fixie, Carbon

AUCTION:

You are bidding on a ULTRA RARE Hotta track frame. Frame is used as is the Oval fork. Both a Hotta Pro fork and an Oval fork are included in the auction. BRAKE IS NOT INCLUDED.... The headset cups were epoxied in and are not removable (you might be able to send to Calfee for removal). The headset was modified to allow the use of a threadless fork so that we could use the Oval fork. The threads have been removed from the top race and it is now possible to use it as one would a threadless headset (see photo). The original Hotta fork that comes with the frame has not been used, at least as far as i can tell. I believe it was actually for another frame as it is quite a bit too long for this one. It will need to be cut and re threaded if you are interested in using it. There are a number of chips in the paint but the frame has never been crashed. NONE of the chips are structural. Please also note because the frame has an integrated seat mast, minimum saddle height will be determined by the size of the seat post head and the distance from saddle rails to top of saddle. I would account for another 50mm or so.

This frame is incredibly rare. Occasionally Hotta's come up for sale but i have yet to see a Hotta Track frame. I can NOT confirm the following but I have been told that this frame is one of two that were built for Norm Alvis of the Saturn Pro Cycling team. It was designed for the 1996 Olympics. This particular frame was ridden by Norm Alvis for the World Championships and was in fact ridden to set the US record 1 hour 51.505 km Norm Alvis, Colo. Springs, CO, 9/26/97. It was also used for a World Hour record attempt that did not succeed.

Hotta's were one of the original super bikes and maintain their status as some of the fastest frames ever ridden. Riders such as Chris Boardman and Graham Obree have ridden Hotta frames to numerous titles

This frame has been used. It has never been crashed and is in great shape  accept for a number of paint chips.  Please email me for more detailed photos of the frame if you are interested.  None of the chips are structural in nature, merely cosmetic.
